PREPARING.
Every roll begins by hand. In complete darkness, your 35mm or 120 film, color or black and white, is carefully, spooled onto reels, and secured within our JOBO 2500 system, the same precision tanks trusted by other professional labs around the world. There’s no automation here, no shortcuts, just practiced hands, a quiet darkroom, and the deliberate rhythm that sets the tone for everything that follows.
DEVELOPING.
At the heart of our workflow is a precision-built Filmomat, handmade in German. Each roll is loaded onto professional JOBO spirals designed to hold 35mm and 120 allowing multiple formats to be processed together with consistent precision. Inside the sealed tank, a quiet motor gently rotates the spirals, reversing direction every few seconds to ensure perfectly even agitation. Every cycle, rotation, and temperature shift is microprocessor controlled for absolute consistency, blending handcrafted care with machine-grade accuracy. Each batch is processed under carefully monitored conditions that bring out the full character of your negatives.
SCANNING.
Our 135 and 120 Autocarrier system brings precision to camera scanning. A magnetic pressure plate made by BOBACH holds every frame perfectly flat, using the same professional design found in Fuji Frontier scanners. Twenty full-spectrum LEDs provide even, color-accurate illumination across the entire frame. Each image is captured with a 45.7-megapixel Nikon Z7 II, infrared converted to remove dust, chosen for its incredible resolution and dynamic range, preserving every subtle grain and tonal nuance from the original negative. The light level is carefully calibrated for medium aperture and low ISO capture, ensuring scans that are sharp, clean, and true to the film.
DELIVERY.
We keep things simple. Every scan we deliver is the highest quality available to us. After careful adjustments for color, density, and contrast, your finished images are uploaded to a secure online drive, and a download link is sent directly to your inbox. Files remain available for 30 days. Once complete, your negatives are sleeved, then safely stored at the shop for pickup at your convenience.
